Two parties, one voyage, each with its own task

Navila is a two-masted phinisi, 28 m long, built in South Sulawesi from ironwood and teak, with Labuan Bajo as her home port. She is owned by Navila Group. The crew of six, led by a cruise director, belongs to the boat, as do the six cabins, the kitchen and the deck.

The reservation team is PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, a company based in Labuan Bajo that arranges bookings for boats sailing in Komodo National Park. We answer your first message, send the quote, hold the date, take the payment and arrange the drive to the harbour. We do not sail the boat, and we do not pretend to.

The split is deliberate. The people who handle your money are not the people at the helm, and the people at the helm are never distracted by invoices.

A booking has a handful of fixed moments, and we are there for each of them.

It starts with your message and our written quote. When the 50 percent deposit is paid, the date is held, and we confirm that in the same thread. The rest of the fare is due 30 days before sailing, though cash or the card machine on departure day works too.

After that we stay quiet on purpose, apart from what you need: the pickup time, the driver's contact, the arrival details we hold for you. Before you travel, we confirm everything in writing.

At the end, the same driver takes you from the harbour to your hotel or the airport. If anything goes wrong in between, write in the same thread and the same people will answer.

There is one official WhatsApp line, answered by the reservation team, and one bank account, which you receive only on an invoice sent in that thread. We never ask for payment any other way, or from any other number.

Our hours are daily from 08:00 to 20:00 (WITA). Fees depend on how you pay: 3 percent for a card payment link, 7.2 percent for PayPal and 3 percent for the card machine in Labuan Bajo.
