Four guides for the questions that come before a booking
Updated 3 November 2026
These Labuan Bajo private charter planning guides answer four questions in order: how to reach the quay, how a whole-boat quote is made, how many guests sleep aboard Navila and what makes a phinisi worth its price. Each takes a few minutes to read.
Four short guides for four recurring questions
Before booking, guests tend to ask the same four questions, so we have answered each of them once, properly.
- Routes from Bali, Lombok and Jakarta. Reaching Labuan Bajo in time for a morning boarding, and planning the flight home.
- The whole-boat price. What a quote for Navila contains, what sits beside it, and what each guest pays in a party of four, eight or twelve.
- Party size. How twelve guests sleep on standard beds, where a thirteenth and fourteenth guest go, and when a second boat becomes necessary.
- What luxury means aboard. Six facts you can check on any phinisi: the crew, the rooms, the meals, the deck.
Each card on this page opens one guide.

Six facts to check before you trust any boat's labelJudge a phinisi by what you can check: a crew of six, six bathrooms, three meals a day, a jacuzzi. Seats from IDR 7,100,000 (≈ USD 436), boat from IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479).
What a whole-boat quote contains, and what sits beside itHow a whole-boat quote for Navila is made: 3D2N from IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for four, IDR 9,620,000 (≈ USD 590) each for eight. Cost lines are listed apart. Ask for yours.
Twelve beds, two extra places and the point where a second boat beginsTwelve guests sleep on standard beds, a thirteenth and fourteenth with the extra-guest fee of IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245) each on 3D2N. Beyond that, a second boat.
Getting to the quay, reading a quote, counting beds, judging a boat
The guides run in the order a trip gets planned. Getting to the boat comes first, because the date hangs on a flight. The price follows, since a party fixes its budget before it chooses cabins, and then the beds, because the price depends on the head count. Last comes the question of what exactly you are paying for.
You can read them in that order or any other. Each stands on its own and none repeats another: the route guide leaves price alone, and the price guide leaves flights alone.
The guides keep to facts about Navila and the coast, and say so plainly where an answer depends on the day or the weather.
Open the guide for the choice you face now
Start with the guide for the decision you are making now. Flight not yet booked? The route guide. Holding a quote from another operator that you want to compare? The price guide. A large party, or three generations together, points to the party-size guide, and if you are choosing between two boats at similar prices, read the guide to judging a boat by its facts.
Anything the guides do not cover, ask us on WhatsApp. We answer in writing, and we stand by what we write.
Prices in the guides are 2026 prices, updated 3 November 2026; wherever the 2027 card is meant, it is named.
