What a whole-boat quote contains, and what sits beside it
Updated 3 November 2026
A private phinisi charter in Labuan Bajo is priced by group size. On 3D2N, Navila's whole boat costs IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for four guests, or IDR 18,250,000 (≈ USD 1,120) each. Eight guests pay IDR 9,620,000 (≈ USD 590) each, and twelve pay IDR 6,830,000 (≈ USD 419) each. Park package, guide and card fees are separate.
How a whole-vessel quote is built
A whole-boat quote is one large figure followed by a few small lines. The large figure is the boat for your chosen route: a single sum for the whole party, set by band (one to four guests, five to eight, or nine to twelve). The full day has one price for one to fifteen guests, since nobody sleeps aboard.
For that sum you have the whole of Navila: six en-suite cabins, three meals a day, and a crew of six under a cruise director. Snacks, fruit and free-flow coffee, tea and water are included, as are towels, life jackets, snorkelling sets, the paddleboard and the harbour transfer in Labuan Bajo.
The tables below give the 3D2N sum for each band, for 2026 and for 2027; the charter page lists every route. None of it depends on how many cabins you use. All six are yours, and whether you sleep in one or all of them, the figure stays the same. Guests used to paying by the room are sometimes surprised by that.
Prices in this guide are 2026 prices, updated 3 November 2026. A quote that does not state its year, route and band is not really a quote yet, only a reason to ask more.

One quote, three party sizes: 4, 8 and 12
Take one route, 3D2N, and three parties. Four guests pay IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for the boat, IDR 18,250,000 (≈ USD 1,120) each. Eight pay IDR 77,000,000 (≈ USD 4,724), which comes to IDR 9,620,000 (≈ USD 590) each. Twelve pay IDR 82,000,000 (≈ USD 5,031), or IDR 6,830,000 (≈ USD 419) each.
Two things follow. The bigger the party, the smaller each share. And the move from one band to the next is a genuine jump, easy to miss when a guest list grows slowly over several weeks: a party of four that invites a fifth moves up a band. Look at both bands before you decide.
Each figure above is simply a share of the boat, not a per-head price set by Navila. The party decides how to divide it; the totals do not change.
The charter page carries the share for every party size, from two guests to fourteen.
Items billed apart: guide, documentation, drinks, tips
Some lines never sit inside a charter price. When one quote looks cheaper than another, these missing lines are the usual reason, and the two quotes turn out to describe rather different voyages.
- The guide. Not in a charter price; quoted on request.
- Photo and video documentation. Also outside the price. Camera, GoPro or drone footage is quoted on request, and we arrange the drone permit.
- Drinks. Coffee, tea and water are free-flowing. Alcohol is excluded.
- Tips for the crew. Excluded, and left to your judgement at the end of the voyage.
- Flights, hotels and travel insurance. Excluded.
An open-trip seat includes a guide and documentation, so any comparison between a seat and the whole boat has to add them to the charter side. A cheaper quote that leaves them out is not, in the end, cheaper.

Komodo National Park package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest; 4D3N: IDR 750,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. It includes the government entrance ticket, the ranger fee and local levies.
Park package, kept on a line of its own
The park package always has its own line. It is quoted per guest and per trip type, it covers the park's entrance tickets together with ranger and local levies, and it is settled apart from Navila's price unless your written quote includes it.
The tickets themselves cost IDR 250,000 a day per foreign guest. Indonesian guests pay IDR 50,000 for a weekday and IDR 75,000 for a Saturday or Sunday. The package adds the other levies on top, so its total is higher than the ticket alone.
The package changes with each guest's nationality and with the days on the route. A party of mixed passports and a party holding one passport therefore receive different figures for the same boat on the same dates. The table below gives the package for each trip type, and the park fees page explains how it is paid.
If an operator tells you the park is included, ask for which guests and which days, and ask for it in writing. A spoken yes at the pier helps nobody.
| Trip | Foreign guest | Indonesian guest |
|---|---|---|
| 3D2N | IDR 650,000 | IDR 350,000 |
| 4D3N | IDR 750,000 | IDR 350,000 |
One package covers the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), the ranger fee and the local levies. It is quoted per guest and paid on top of the boat price, unless your quote says it is included. For other trip lengths, the desk quotes the package with your booking.
| International visitors | IDR 250,000 per person per day |
| Indonesian visitors | IDR 50,000 per person per day · IDR 75,000 weekends & holidays |
Regulation: PP 36/2024 · Verified 10 October 2026.
Card fees, bank charges and the final invoice
Fees come last. They are small, and they are the line guests forget until the invoice arrives a little higher than expected. A card link carries 3 percent, PayPal 7.2 percent, and EDC at the pier 3 percent. A bank transfer, Wise or Revolut carries only your own bank's charges.
Paying 50 percent reserves the date; the remainder falls 30 days ahead of sailing. The balance can also be paid in cash or by EDC on departure day.
The final invoice lists every line in turn: the boat first, then the park package, then anything added between booking and sailing. It is issued by PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363.
For 2027 sailings, the charter page lists the full 2027 card, route by route.
Six things to ask of any quotation you receive
Six questions will test any quotation, ours included. Note the answers beside the figures, and do it before paying a deposit rather than after.
- Which year does the price belong to?
- Which route and which band does it cover?
- Is the guide inside it, or beside it?
- Is photo and video documentation inside it, or beside it?
- Is the park package inside it, and if so for which guests and which days?
- What fee applies to the way you will pay?
Ask us the same six. We answer in writing, line by line, before any deposit. The one thing no quote can promise is the order of the day, which the weather and the captain settle.
FAQ
How much should I budget for a private boat in Komodo?
That depends on the boat, the route and the size of the party. Navila for 3D2N costs IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for one to four guests, IDR 77,000,000 (≈ USD 4,724) for five to eight and IDR 82,000,000 (≈ USD 5,031) for nine to twelve. The park package, guide, tips and card fees are separate lines on the invoice.
What is excluded from a private charter, such as the guide, park fees and a drone?
A charter price holds neither the guide nor photo and video documentation; each is priced on request. The park package is a separate line, settled apart from Navila's price unless your written quote includes it, and we arrange the drone permit on request. Flights, hotels, travel insurance, alcohol and tips are also excluded.
Is a deposit enough to hold the boat?
Yes. Paying 50 percent up front keeps the date for you. We send the invoice and the cost lines in writing first, so you see the full price before paying anything. The remainder falls 30 days ahead of departure, or can be paid in cash or by EDC on the day.
When is the final payment due?
The remainder falls 30 days ahead of sailing, and cash or EDC on departure day will also do. If you book later than that, we agree the payment with you in writing. Card fees apply to payments by card link and PayPal.
Which payment methods work from abroad?
A card link carries 3 percent and PayPal 7.2 percent. A bank transfer, Wise or Revolut carries only your own bank's charges, and EDC at the pier carries 3 percent. Choose whichever costs you least, and we confirm the final amount in writing.
How much is refunded if I cancel?
The terms set two refund windows: 50 percent back in the first, 25 percent in the second, and nothing after that. Changing the date close to sailing carries a fee of IDR 500,000, and the terms page lists the windows. If Navila cannot sail, you are refunded in full.
