Sebayur: a sheltered beach and reef, set into the day by the captain

Updated 3 November 2026

A Sebayur Island snorkel from a private phinisi belongs to the owner's private 3D2N sample, not to the open-trip route. Its beach and reef sit near Flores; from Labuan Bajo the sail takes 90 to 120 minutes. The captain agrees the day's sequence with you.

Ask about Sebayur

Where Sebayur falls in the private three-day plan

Sebayur belongs to one plan only: day one of the private 3D2N sample, with Siaba and Pink Beach. It is not on the open-trip route, the full day, the 2D1N or the 4D3N.

That makes it a stop for a party that charters the whole boat and wants to reshape the plan. A private 3D2N follows the same park as the open trip and can be changed with the captain, and Sebayur is one of the changes the private sample shows.

Because the route is a sample and not a promise, the sequence of stops is set with the captain, with the weather and the tide. Tell us in your first message that Sebayur matters to you, and we pass the request on. We do not guarantee it before the captain has agreed it.

Coral in front of the beach

We mean the bigger of the two Sebayur islands, the one near Flores. It has beaches and reefs close by, and the stop is a snorkelling one. The table lists it as easy, with a snorkel of 45 to 90 minutes, a depth of 2 to 10 metres and a mild current.

The dragon trekking area lies elsewhere, so there is no ranger to book and no walk to plan. The stop is simple. Navila anchors, the tender ferries the party to sand or water, and the stop is then yours.

The boat carries snorkelling sets and life jackets, and the paddleboard is another way onto the water. Wear reef-safe sunscreen and do not touch the coral, and the reef will look the same to the next boat as it does to you.

Sebayur against Kanawa: the day picks one

Both are easy island snorkels, and both are midday stops. The difference is distance and place in the route.

Sebayur is farther from the harbour, 90 to 120 minutes by boat, and it fits the first day of a private plan. Kanawa is nearer, 60 to 90 minutes, and it is the last morning of the open-trip route, with the harbour at 12:00 afterwards. A short route can take Kanawa and rarely has the time for Sebayur.

For most parties the choice comes down to the length of the voyage. A 3D2N reshaped around Sebayur gives up the Kanawa morning, and one that keeps Kanawa leaves Sebayur out. We will say plainly which of the two the route you want can carry.

Leaving Sebayur for the next anchorage

After the snorkel the boat moves on, and the next stop depends on the day. In the private 3D2N sample, day one continues to Pink Beach and ends at an anchorage the captain chooses with the weather. The boat stays at anchor overnight, and nothing about the night is hurried.

Sailing time between stops is real time, so Sebayur's distance from the harbour takes a slice of the first day. A party that boards at 10:00 to 11:00 reaches the island in the middle of the day, after a leisurely sail, and the afternoon is for the next landing.

If the weather turns, the captain decides which stop to drop, and a calmer reef nearer the route can take its place. We tell you if the change affects what you booked.

FAQ

How far by boat is Sebayur from Labuan Bajo?

Between 90 and 120 minutes, which is farther than Kelor or Kanawa. For that reason Sebayur belongs on the first day of a private plan. The time between stops is part of the day, and the captain sets the sequence of stops with the weather and the tide.

Is Sebayur on every Navila route?

No. It appears only in the private 3D2N sample. The open trip, the full day, the 2D1N and the 4D3N do not call there. A private party can ask for it, and the captain agrees the sequence of the day with you.

Can we fit Sebayur and Kanawa into one voyage?

Not on a 3D2N, where one of the two takes the place of the other. A longer voyage has more room, and a private plan can be shaped with the captain. Send us your number of days, and we answer with what the route can hold.
