A Labuan Bajo cruise on Navila Liveaboard means six en-suite cabins and a crew of six. For three days, the whole boat costs IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for one to four guests and IDR 82,000,000 (≈ USD 5,031) for nine to twelve. On the open trip, a cabin seat starts at IDR 7,100,000 (≈ USD 436) per person.
One phinisi for one party, and the figure written beside it
Navila is a two-masted phinisi, 28 m long, built of ironwood and teak in South Sulawesi and based in Labuan Bajo. Charter her privately and everything aboard is yours alone: six cabins, six crew, the deck and the dining table. No one else is booked aboard.
What you pay depends on how many are in your party, and it is one sum for the whole vessel. Three days and two nights cost IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for one to four guests, IDR 77,000,000 (≈ USD 4,724) for five to eight, and IDR 82,000,000 (≈ USD 5,031) for nine to twelve. Two guests pay what four would, so each share shrinks as the party grows.
Certain costs we always list separately: the park package, drinks and tips. A charter also excludes the guide, along with photo and video documentation of your days. Paying by card link adds 3 percent. These are the rates for 2026 departures.
Size is the real limit. Twelve guests sleep on standard beds, fourteen with the extra-guest fee; any larger party needs a second boat. The charter page lists every route and the 2027 rates as well.

Six cabins with six bathrooms, and a jacuzzi at the stern end of the day
There are two Master cabins and four Private cabins. Each has a double bed, its own bathroom with a hot shower, air conditioning and a safety box, and all six look out to sea. The Masters add a wide window and space for one extra guest. You never leave your cabin to wash.
On deck there is a jacuzzi, with relax areas at the bow, in the middle and at the stern. Inside you will find the dining room, karaoke and a home theatre on a smart TV, and a paddleboard is kept aboard for calm mornings. Starlink internet is fitted, though how well it connects depends on Navila's position, so we quote no speed.
One thing is better said early: each cabin has one double bed, so friends hoping for separate beds should raise it with us before booking.
The cabins page shows all six with their photographs and the seat fare for each.
Three days, prepared before you step aboard
On day one you are met between 09:00 and 09:30, at Komodo Airport or your hotel, and boarding follows between 10:00 and 11:00. The afternoon brings the Kelor trek and Manjarite. By sunset you are off Kalong, watching the bats rise.
Day two starts early, with sunrise on Padar. After that: Pink Beach, Komodo Island, and a swim and snorkel at Taka Makassar and Manta Point. The last morning has a snorkel at Kanawa, with the harbour reached around 12:00.
Already arranged before you arrive:
- The ride between airport or hotel and the pier, both ways.
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner each day.
- Coffee, tea and water whenever you like, with snacks and fruit between meals.
- Towels, life jackets and snorkelling sets.
- The cruise director and a crew of six.
All of this is the plan; the captain and the weather have the final word on the stops and where the boat anchors. The full timetable sits on the three-day route page.
A lone berth on the next departure day
Some guests want one cabin, not the whole boat. For them Navila runs a 3D2N open trip on set dates, selling cabins seat by seat, per person, two to a cabin. A seat in a Master cabin is IDR 8,100,000 (≈ USD 497); a seat in a Private cabin is IDR 7,100,000 (≈ USD 436). Both are all-in fares for 2026.
Dates come from Navila's live calendar, which we check on WhatsApp per 3 November 2026. Seats change from day to day, so we confirm yours before you pay.
A guide comes with your seat, and so do photographs and video of the trip. The park package is extra. Travelling alone is fine too; we confirm the arrangement and the price in writing before any payment.
The open-trip page shows how a seat is held.
Occasions we prepare for again and again
A few requests come to us again and again. One is the private voyage on the whole boat, which we call VVIP; that is our own class label for Navila, not a star rating. Another is a honeymoon or an anniversary for two. A third is a family spanning three generations who want a bathroom with every bedroom.
After those come friends who split one whole-boat price, then corporate groups, photographers, active parties and people travelling solo. Each occasion shifts the route, the cabin plan or the pace a little. Every one has its own page, with a worked example.
The occasions hub shows all nine and what changes on each. If there are two of you, start with the honeymoon and anniversary pages.
Nine anchorages and landings, each at its best hour
Nine places shape the voyage, and most have a time of day that suits them. Padar is climbed for the sunrise. Pink Beach comes in the morning. On Komodo Island you walk with the rangers, and the dragons, being wild, are never guaranteed.
Kalong belongs to dusk, when flying foxes leave the mangroves in their thousands. Manta Point and Taka Makassar are snorkel stops; mantas are worth hoping for, though we never promise a sighting. Kelor, Sebayur and Kanawa are for short walks and quiet swims.
Sequence is set by the captain and the harbour authority, and tide or wind can push a stop to the next day. Each place has its own page in the stops hub, with the trail and the snorkelling described in full.
Months that suit a slow voyage on this coast
Daylight is the easiest thing to plan around, and it shifts through the year. On Padar the sun comes up at 06:14 in June and at 05:31 in November. At Kalong in November it sets at 18:01. You can set an alarm by any of these.
The when-to-sail page grades each month for sea and weather; read it as a guide, not a forecast. If a stop is closed or a route has to move, we tell you before you pay.
Every Navila route starts and ends in Labuan Bajo. If you want a one-way passage to Lombok, write to us and we price it on its own.
Will Navila suit your party? A straight answer
Navila is right for a party that wants a small boat and real privacy. The three short lists below say plainly who she suits and when another boat would serve you better.
You book through PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, and we answer daily from 08:00 to 20:00 (WITA). We hold the date against a 50 percent deposit; the remainder is settled 30 days ahead of departure.
The host's note. There are towels aboard, but keep one dry for the afternoon after Pink Beach. Sandals with a strap make the tender landings easier.
Who this boat suits
- Two people marking a honeymoon or an anniversary on a quiet six-cabin phinisi, with the whole boat or a single Master cabin
- A family of up to twelve, three generations included, with a bathroom and a sea view for every bedroom
- Two or four travellers who would rather take a 3D2N open-trip cabin with its own bathroom, on a set sailing date
Who it does not suit
- More than fourteen guests overnight, which needs a second boat; on trips of six days or more the limit is twelve
- A trip planned around scuba: Navila carries snorkelling sets and no dive equipment
When this is the wrong boat
- Each guest needs a separate bed, as all six cabins have one double bed
- You want to pick the sailing date yourself on an open-trip seat, since those seats sail on set dates

“Very good boat, good experience, and fulfilled my dream to see a Komodo dragon.”
“Loved the experience — the team and crew are the best.”
“They made our 2nd anniversary absolutely perfect. We got to stand just metres away from an actual Komodo dragon — the ranger was right there. The crew even played our song while we watched the sun go down.”

FAQ
Can we book the whole boat, and will anyone else be aboard?
Yes. On a private charter the band price buys the whole of Navila, so the only other people aboard are the crew of six and the cruise director. If you find yourself sharing the deck with strangers, you have booked the open trip, which sells cabins by the seat on set dates.
Is the drive from the airport or my hotel included?
Yes, within Labuan Bajo. A driver brings you from your hotel or Komodo Airport to the pier on the first day, and home again at the end. On the open trip the meeting is between 09:00 and 09:30; on a charter the hour is set around your flights. Fly in the day before you sail.
Is the national park fee inside the price?
No. The park package is quoted per guest, by trip type and nationality, and it is settled apart from Navila's price unless your written quote includes it. It bundles the park's entrance ticket with ranger and local levies. Ask for that line with your quote and we confirm it in writing.
How do I pay from abroad?
Pay a 50 percent deposit against an invoice in your WhatsApp thread. A payment link by card costs 3 percent extra and PayPal 7.2 percent, while a transfer through Wise, Revolut or QRIS, or a plain bank transfer, also works. The balance falls 30 days before sailing, or on departure day in cash or by card machine.
